UAE ECAS Certification Program introduction
Under the ECAS program, all controlled products must apply for and obtain a COC Certificate of compliance as a customs clearance and sales pass. ECAS certification not only covers safety, but also covers safety testing, performance testing, functional inspection, hazardous substances testing and other aspects that may be covered (but not wireless testing, which is controlled by TRA certification).

Generally speaking, ordinary electrical products are only required for safety testing, but air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines and lamps are also subject to EESL energy efficiency control, which requires energy efficiency testing. Lamps are special and have four test requirements. Therefore, if the controlled lamps are exported to the UAE, the report of four test standards must be completed at the same time and submitted together, the COC certificate covering the four standards must be applied, and the EESL registration must be completed, and the energy efficiency label must be affixed before the customs can be successfully cleared and entered into the UAE market.

What are the product areas regulated by ECAS?
The electrical/electronic product areas covered by the ECAS technical regulations include Energy Efficiency Standard Labeling (EESL), Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), Electrical Equipment in Potentially Explosive Environments (ECASEx), lighting products, and low-voltage equipment (LVE).

What is the ECAS compliance mark?
A license for the use of the UAE Conformity Assessment Scheme Conformity Mark (ECAS Mark) is issued to the manufacturer of the certified product.
Certified products will be marked with the following ECAS identification, with the number indicating the certification authority authorized to use this identification.

The following information requirements are for electronic products:
1. Uae local company license (local company name, address, contact information)
2.CB test report (must be a CB report issued within 3 years)
3. Declaration of Conformity (must use ESMA approved template)
4. Product photos
5. Label and package photos (must be MADE IN FORMAT)
6. Instruction in English and Arabic
7. For electronic products, plugs must meet ESMA requirements
