The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) announces that:
the acceptance deadline to accept the registration of lighting products (LED) that have not been completed the survival factor and lumen maintenance test at 2,000 hours has been extended until 30/06/2020.
To accept applications, the applicant must provide the following evidence:
Lamps Products (LED):
- Undertaking from the manufacturer that they will perform the test and submit the final test report to the system within 30 days from the completion of the test
- Document from third party laboratory confirming receipt of samples and indicating starting and ending date of the test
Luminaire Products (LED):
- Undertaking from the manufacturer that they will perform the test and submit the final test report to the system within 30 days from the completion of the test, in addition to the following:
- In case of testing in a third party laboratory:
Document from third party laboratory confirming receipt of samples and indicating starting and ending date of the test
or
- In case of testing in the manufacturer’s laboratory:
Contract with third party to perform witness tests clarifying the starting and ending dates of the test
Note:
- Both third party and manufacturer laboratories have to be accredited from SASO
- In case of failure to submit (final test report within 30 days, legal procedures will be taken
